Also, with respect to the 2-drawer and 3-drawer chests (the larger drawers), the top drawer has a metal support beam going across - for mounting the top/more units. So while the unit is 18.5 deep, there is a lot of lost opportunity space at the back with the less deep drawer. I have two warnings.first off, the drawers don't go all the way to the back of the unit. No issues with assembly (except when my brain decides to skip a step). I have some 3-drawer units, and then one configured with the larger base, and a combination of these 2-drawers, with the smaller ones, giving me a total of 12 drawers.
